Terms & Condition

Terms and Conditions

❖ Removal Service includes: Loading of goods and unloading of goods into the room to room where possible. If any items, due to their shape or weight, cannot go into the required room, then we reserve the right to leave that item in the ground floor rooms or in the garage.

❖ You agree to use Helpful Movers Ltd for lawful purposes. Prohibited behavior also includes harassing or causing distress.

❖ You guarantee that goods submitted for removals, as well as goods going to storage, are your own goods or you are dealing on behalf of the owner as an authorized person.

❖ You agree that your moving goods are lawful and allowed to move in accordance with the law of the country, and you are declaring that there is nothing in the boxes, etc., which is by law prohibited to move.

❖ Helpful Movers Ltd reserve the right to stop the job or refuse to carry on the job during the move if our staff are subject to any kind of physical or verbal abuse. We can stop the job and cancel it at any time due to any misbehavior, rude comments, or the use of abusive language by the customer or customers.

❖ It is the customer’s responsibility to provide or reserve parking on both ends. If we incur penalty charges, those will be added to the final cost.

❖ The customer is to pay for any pay and display parking tickets issued, as well as any congestion charge(s).

❖ The customer is liable to pay any ferry cost unless agreed in the quote.

❖ All agreed prices must be paid before unloading.

❖ We take a deposit on booking; final payment must be made 5 days before moving via bank transfer. If you have not paid the full amount in advance, then you need to make a cash payment to our supervisor on the day of the move before unloading.

❖ Failure to pay will result in delays. Any delays caused by the customer not paying will result in a loss of time that will be added to the final invoice. If you fail to pay the agreed price for whatever reason, then we reserve the right to take the goods to our storage, where storage costs will be applied. You must then pay the redelivery cost along with outstanding payments for storage and the agreed job price, plus additional costs for redelivery from storage.

❖ Any items that were not included in the information provided by the client during the site visit, video survey, or over the phone inventory will result in a surcharge. This surcharge will be added on top of the final price. The price will be decided by the operation manager on site or can be from the office sales team. Any additional furniture item will be charged at £30 each, and any extra boxes or bags will be charged £10.00 per box. (If we have visited your property, then this will not be applicable.)

❖ We work on a fair usage of packing material policy. During the visit, we can only provide estimates, which means we cannot give you all-inclusive material. We can only offer you a certain number of boxes included in the price based on our estimates. In case you need any additional boxes (after using the ones included in the quote), that will be on a pay-as-you-go fair usage policy. We will only charge you for extra materials if you use them.

❖ In all our quotes, all the wardrobe boxes are not included. We charge on a fair usage policy and will charge each wardrobe box £15.00 per wardrobe box for hanging clothes, unless previously agreed in writing that wardrobes are included.

❖ We reserve the right to charge for waiting charges of £80 per van per hour if we must wait for more than 30 minutes after reaching the new property. (We do not charge any waiting charge on fixed price jobs; we only charge you for late working hours if we must work after 5:00 PM.)

❖ Our late working hours charges are £39 per person per hour after 5 PM work during the week (Monday to Friday). We charge £49 per person per hour for late working hours on weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Once we complete the move at your property, that is the final working hour; you do not need to pay for any return journey hours.

❖ If we need to do an extra run/trip or need an additional truck during the move, there will be a 50% extra charge of the total job for the additional trip or truck/van. (After visit quotes will not be charged unless you are moving items that you mentioned during the visit that you may or may not move.)

❖ Customers or someone authorized by you will need to be present at both properties during the move, so we can make sure nothing is left behind in error and that at delivery everything is delivered into the right rooms.

❖ In the event of emergency storage required for overnight, there will be emergency overnight storage charges of £450.00 per van per night.

❖ It is your responsibility to provide us with your correspondence address along with your ID (can be a passport) and contact number and email address for the next of kin to hand over your goods in case of any emergency.

❖ It is your responsibility to provide the insurance inventory filled before you submit your goods for storage. We have a maximum storage insurance of up to £5000.00 inclusive in our storage quote. If you need more insurance for storage, please send us in writing; there will be an additional charge for insurance if your goods have a value of more than £5000.00. We will charge £25 per £1000 value for the insurance.

❖ You must pay the outstanding storage invoice regularly on a weekly/monthly basis. All late payments will be subject to a penalty charge of £20 per day.

❖ We reserve the right to serve you a final notice to move your goods from our storage if you fail to pay storage invoices on time. We shall have the right to withhold or ultimately dispose of all goods until the amounts have been paid and any other payments due under this or any other agreement. These include any charges that we have paid out on your behalf. While we hold the goods, you will be liable to pay all storage charges and other costs incurred by our withholding your goods, and these terms and conditions shall continue to apply.

❖ If you collect some or all goods from our storage/warehouse or hire a different company to collect your goods, a release charge will be applied to hand over your belongings. The charge will be 35% of the total job.

❖ It is the customer's responsibility to declare to us the proper value of the goods prior to the move. Failure to declare the value before the move will result in a failed claim against our goods in transit insurance policy.

❖ We will not be liable for any loss or damage to any goods unless any claim for loss or damage is notified to us in writing within seven days (this is a requirement of insurers) of either their collection by you or delivery by us to their destination, unless you request a reasonable extension which we agree to in writing.

❖ Any damage caused to your goods must be presented to our team on the day of removals, or you can notify us within seven days of your move. Anything received after seven days will not be accepted.

❖ We will not be liable for any loss or damage to your goods as a result of fire or explosion, howsoever that fire or explosion was caused, unless we have been negligent or in breach of contract.

❖ Expensive jewelry, watches, stones, and other metals, money, deeds, personal identification documents such as ID cards, passports, visas, etc., are entirely the customer's responsibility to take care of before the team arrives and move them to somewhere safe. Our insurance policy does not cover these items for missing.

❖ We are liable to compensate you for the damage caused to your goods during transportation. We will only pay 25% of the total value of the item if the items are valued at less than £250.

❖ The amount of our liability to you in the event of damages to your goods is subject to a maximum liability of £50,000.00.

❖ We do not accept responsibility for damage caused due to the design of the property by height, length, and width of any large item being moved in or out. Customers need to inform the company if there will be any complications at the moving from and moving to property, such as narrow stairs, moving belongings from the loft, door size, etc. This is applicable where a survey has not been conducted.

❖ If packing is done by the customer, the company will not be liable for any damages inside the boxes.

❖ In the event of any insurance claim, the customer is liable to pay the first £250 to get access to be paid for damages (this is an insurance company requirement, beyond our control).

❖ Minor damage to goods or property will not be paid unless insured.

❖ We are not liable for any damages caused to your electrical suppliers, PCs, TVs, unless there is evidence of external damage.

❖ Hourly jobs are based on a minimum booking for three hours unless agreed in the quote.

❖ We start the clock once we arrive at the customer's property and finish the clock once the job is finished; the client is liable to pay for all the hours we worked. We charge for a full hour, not half, so in case you pass 15 minutes, then we still charge you for the full hour.

❖ Payment must be made before unloading.

❖ Staff need to take breaks for tea, lunch, drinks, and refreshments or smoke. In per hour jobs, staff can take a fifteen-minute break for every three-hour period; this is included in the hours.

❖ We do not offer insurance on hourly jobs.
